HOW WE MAY USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION:

We may share your information with, and obtain information about you from, other statutory agencies, political organisations or community and voluntary agencies.

The legal basis permitting us to collect and use your information is Article 6 of GDPR consent to process data: this means you will have given us clear consent for us to process your personal data for a specific purpose. The clear consent is collected from you when you sign a casework form, tick the permission box on an online casework form or you tell use verbally and we record that consent for you.
If you fail to provide personal data we may not be able to perform the service you have asked us to provide or we have or are trying to help you with (for example, benefit appeal or housing inquiry). In this case, we may have to cancel a service you have with us but we will explain this for you at the time.
Under certain circumstances, you have rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data. You have the right to request access to your personal data, enabling you to receive a copy of any personal data we hold about you and/or request a correction of the personal data that we hold about you. You can request the removal of your personal data, request the transfer of your personal data to a third party or withdraw consent at any time.
We retain your data for a period of three months after your case with us has been closed. At that time you will be given the option to collect any hard copy papers we hold relating to you or with your permission we will destroy hard copy paperwork in a safe and secure manner. Any digital records will be anonymised removing all personal references. The anonymised records are then held for statistical and training purposes.
